The Trip Countdown SMS program
The Trip Countdown sends one short, fun message a day counting down to a group trip — local facts, food tips, and things to look for at the destination. This page shows exactly how people opt in, what they agree to, and how to stop.
How to opt in (3 steps)
- 1. Get the invite link. A trip organizer creates a countdown and shares a private invite link (thetripcountdown.com/join/…) with their group chat. Organizers cannot add anyone else's phone number themselves.
- 2. Enter your own mobile number and check the consent box. Each traveler opens the link, types their own number, and ticks the SMS consent checkbox shown below. The box is unchecked by default.
- 3. Confirm the texted code. We text a 6-digit confirmation code. Messages only start after that code is entered, so a number can never be enrolled by someone else.
